We are a retirement community located in the greater Chicagoland area seeking to staff a variety of positions. Your duties would include: assist the chef with food and vegetable preparation, maintain the cleanliness of equipment (pots and pans) and cooking area, monitor the temperature of refrigerators and freezers, check/reorder inventory on a daily basis, and ensure that the kitchen complies with state and local health and safety regulations. You would be required to be on the job before the chefs arrive in the morning and after they leave in the evening (depending on your shift). You prepare the menu according to American Dietary Association standards. You are the heart of the meals we prepare for our residents!

We seek individuals just starting out as well as seasoned professionals. We require an Associate Degree in culinary arts or a related area such as nutrition or food technology (students in the last semester of study are encouraged to apply). Prior catering or food management experience is a plus. Starting salary is $32K but may be negotiable based upon experience. Free uniforms are provided. The most important requirement for this job is the ability to provide excellent resident care. We realize our clients could have gone anywhere to live, but they chose to come here!
